Tessa Mellinger

Hi, I'm Tessa.  I'm an illustrator and storyteller with a passion for all critters, big and small.

I grew up in a tiny town in the Green Mountains of Vermont.  I spent most of my time drawing whatever animals popped into my head, and when I wasn't drawing, I was bringing those animals into my house to keep as pets.

I frequently seek inspiration through nature, studying the composition of landscapes as a whole, down to the smallest detail on a leaf.  However, I'm much more mindful about the wildlife I bring into my home today; my 70+ houseplants and terrarium of common garden snails are well cared for.

​

In my matured state I've found joy in being able to spread warmth and happiness through my creativity.  I hope for 'Kiko's Origami Adventure' to be the first of many stories of mine.
